Flying on the coast is beautiful and bad for your aircraft. Salt air settles on everything that is bare metal: connectors, solder joints, battery contacts. It happens slowly, you do not see it, and one day the aircraft will not boot. On a circuit board, corrosion then looks like a greenish deposit around the legs of a chip.
And then there is the real disaster: an aircraft that falls into seawater. There, every hour counts. Fresh water is annoying, salt water is aggressive and keeps eating as long as the aircraft is not cleaned. Do not switch it on to see whether it still works — that is exactly what kills it for good. Take the battery out, rinse with demineralised water if you have it, and send it the same day.
